Description:
The Willmar Regional Cancer Center's mission is to promote the health and well being of patients diagnosed with cancer in the communities of west central Minnesota.

The Willmar Regional Cancer Center is a cooperative venture between Rice Memorial Hospital and Affiliated Community Medical Centers. This partnership allows the Willmar Regional Cancer Center to offer our patients the latest methods to treat cancer. The establishment of the Willmar Regional Cancer Center provides a place where cancer care is as personal as it is progressive.

The Willmar Regional Cancer Center is fully accredited by the American College of Surgeons. The WRCC participates in the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG) as a Mayo Clinic Affiliate. Participation in this organization allows our patients access to national clinical trials and the latest in cancer therapies.

Detection and Early Prevention
The staff at the Willmar Regional Cancer Center work to provide information on cancer prevention and early detection. We work with primary care providers and specialty physicians to detect cancer early, when treatment is most effective.

Diagnosis
For complete evaluation of your disease and considering the best course for treatment, the following diagnostic services are available at the Willmar Regional Cancer Center: Diagnostic X-ray, Mammography, CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Laboratory Services, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, and Same Day Surgical Biopsy. These services are made possible through the partnership of many departments at Rice and Affiliated Community Medical Center.

A team approach to healing
At the Willmar Regional Cancer Center, we believe in an integration of health care to serve the patient in the best way possible. Your health care team includes: Your primary care physician, Board-Certified Medical & Radiation Oncologists, Oncology-Certified Nurses, Oncology Nurse Navigator, Radiation Therapists, Physicists, Dosimetrists, Pharmacists, Pathologists, Social Services, Chaplain, Dietitian, and Volunteers.

Treatment
The Willmar Regional Cancer Center offers the latest methods to treat cancer. Your health care team at the Willmar Regional Cancer Center will work with your physician to determine the best treatment plan for you. These options are Surgery, Chemotherapy, and Radiation Therapy. All Willmar Regional Cancer Center staff are skilled in giving care to patients both professionally and compassionately.

Other services
In an effort to provide comprehensive care to our patients, the Willmar Regional Cancer Center has developed many programs to assist you throughout the stages of your diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Other Services include: Education, Counseling of patients & families, Regular assessments, Tumor Registry
provides lifetime follow-up of patients through physician contact on a yearly basis, Pain Management, Support Groups & Programs, and Informational Resources.
