Description: The multidisciplinary team at the University of Minnesota Breast Center offers a comprehensive approach to screening, diagnosis, treatment, and after-treatment support. Our team of specialists includes surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, genetic counselors, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and social workers.
The Breast Center at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview works with University of Minnesota Physicians and community physicians to provide complete patient care. As a team they have access to the latest therapies and treatments for breast cancer. We work with our colleagues at the University of Minnesota Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, to develop the next generation of therapies to fight breast cancer.

A team combining several specialized disciplines works together to create the best breast cancer treatment plan for each person. Team members include Primary care physicians, Surgeons, Radiologists, Pathologists, Medical oncologists, Nurses, Nutritionists, and Social workers.
Services we offer include Screening mammography, Diagnostics mammography, Ultrasound, Core Biopsies (stereotactic, ultrasound), Physical examination of breasts, Access to radiologists, Referrals to surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and cosmetic surgeons, A network of specialty physicians available for giving a second opinion, Test readings by a pathologist, Specialty procedures (such as blood and marrow transplants), Genetic counseling, Clinical trials, Support groups, Home care, and Complementary therapies.
