Description:The Hope Chest’s mission is to help underserved women with living expenses during treatment for breast cancer.
This grant is made possible by the Twin Cities Hope Chest for Breast Cancer. The fund is administered by the University of Minnesota Cancer Center / Fairview Foundation.
Guidelines for Grant Assistance:
- Grant applicants must currently be receiving treatment for breast cancer (surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy).
- Grant applicants must have a diagnosis of breast cancer & meet eligibility criteria for “underserved.”
- “Underserved” criteria are determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Evaluation of each patient’s need situation is done by health care providers- usually a social worker, nurse and/or physician.
- Grant applicants may apply for a one-time assistance from the grant; this allows help to as many individuals as possible.
- We request that a social worker/nurse or provider from the grant applicant’s health care facility contact us in their behalf.
- The grant will pay bills for grant recipients directly to their utility, mortgage company, etc.
