Mayo Clinic’s Stephen and Barbara Slaggie Family Cancer Education Center can help:

• Explore treatment options
• Locate additional resources
• Learn about cancer prevention and detection
• Understand clinical research
• Find out more about your diagnosis

The Center also offers classes and group sessions designed to assist individuals during the cancer experience.

Staff & volunteers can help patients, caregivers, & the public:

  • Learn about cancer prevention & detection
  • Find out more about a cancer diagnosis
  • Explore treatment options
  • Understand clinical research
  • Connect to educational sessions & support groups
  • Address survivorship issues
  • Locate additional support resources, such as financial assistance, lodging, transportation, wigs and prosthetics

The following materials are available in their Cancer Resource Collection:

  • Brochures, books, DVDs/videos, magazines & scientific journals
  • Computer resources, including Internet access with recommended reputable Web sites & an interactive CD-ROM program
  • Librarian-mediated medical literature searches
  • Spanish-language materials
