Hospice focuses on calming (palliative) care. It includes reducing pain, controlling symptoms and helps with the spiritual, emotional and personal needs of patients and their families. Many care givers, such as physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, therapists, homemakers and volunteers work together to give hospice service. Home health services are available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. A registered nurse/case manager under the direction of a physician coordinates all services.
