Facing Cancer Together (FaCT) is offered free of charge for children and families who have a parent with cancer. FaCT helps families gain understanding, strength, and hope as they journey through the cancer experience together.
Parent/Adult Groups
This adult education and support group offers an opportunity for parents and supporters to learn ways to talk with their children about cancer, address their children's needs, and explore the impact of cancer on their family.
Kids Kove
Kids Kove is offered to children and teens who have a parent with cancer. The program offers a safe and nurturing environment where children and teens will receive age-appropriate information to help them learn to identify and understand their feelings, find friendship and support, and acquire techniques for self-care and ways to meet and manage this challenge.
Kids Kove and the Adult group meet simutaneously offering support for the entire family.
Education & Support Series
This program is designed to provide families with the information and support they need in order to face the challenges of cancer together. The series meets one night a week for four weeks. While parents meet, their children and teens join their peers in age-specific groups. There is also an Ongoing Education & Support program that meets for one evening several times a year.
Kids Kamp
A two-day camp provides an opportunity for children & teens, ages 5-18, to have fun and find support with their peers, teen mentors and adult volunteers. Kids Kamp will be held August 8 & 9, 2007 at Edenwood Center in Eden Prairie. Families may register at 612-205-5743.
Valleyfair
This is time for your family to just have fun together with a free evening at Valleyfair. We’ll kick off the evening with a picnic and then off to the park for rides and entertainment.
Winter Retreat
The winter retreat is a day-long educational and supportive retreat for the whole family offering age-appropriate activities including crafts, music, gym time, and outside winter fun.
Deaf Breast Health Education Conference
Open to deaf women age 16+ and their families on September 22, 2007.
