Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center offers help to Mayo Clinic patients who are experiencing the cosmetic side effects of medical treatments. The center provides products and services to help patients maintain their personal appearance during treatment.
A synthetic wig, head covering or baseball cap is available to Mayo patients at no cost. The staff will help you try on and select the appropriate product.
Books, pamphlets and videotapes are available, including Coping with hair loss, Managing skin care, Applying makeup, and Tying Scarves and head wraps.
Items available for purchase include Bangs, Sleep Caps, Books, Turbans, Hats, Wigs, Jewelry, Wig care products and Scarves.
These services and products are available to all Mayo Clinic patients experiencing hair loss because of medical treatment, adults and children. When you come to the center, please bring your Mayo Clinic registration number. If you have experienced some hair loss, a past photo will help as you select a complimentary wig or head covering. Your family or caregiver is welcome to visit the center to help you. Visitors are welcome to purchase retail items. Look Good ... Feel Better is a program for those experiencing cosmetic side effects from their cancer treatment. This program includes techniques for skin care, cosmetics, head dressings and wig care. The program is free and is presented by the American Cancer Society, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, National Cosmetology Association and Mayo Clinic. Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center offers the Look Good...Feel Better program on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 1:00 2:30pm. Please call to register.
