Description:
Offering Transportation, Respite Care, Visitation & Companion Services, Homemaker Services, and Health Education.  

Transportation: DARTS is the Metro Mobility provider for Dakota County. This service is provided for the whole county from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for eligible persons. Handicap buses and volunteer drivers are available.

Respite Care: Assistance to in-home caregivers of patients. Service provided by volunteers. Four hours is maximum time limit.

Visitation & Companion Services: Program offering support to cancer patients by phone or personal visits. Several services available including: Visiting Program offers a once a week visit; Visitor/Shopper Program will visit and assist with errands such as grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions. Client may choose to accompany visitor on errands or not.

Homemaker Services: Provides assistance in the home for non-medical needs. Provides chore services including laundry, dusting, vacuuming, light meal preparation, closet cleaning and grocery shopping, outdoor chores (eg raking, lawn mowing, snow shoveling) and home health care.

Health Education: Lecture series on: Family Caregiving Strategies; Cooperative caregiving; Community Resources; Critical Conversations; Dementia and Memory Loss; Financial and Legal Issues; Housing Decisions.
