Description:
This group focuses on the unique challenges of caregivers. It is designed to help caregivers cope with stress and role changes that occur through a cancer experience. In the sessions, education about cancer helps caregivers get a handle on basic facts about the disease and its treatment. The series reviews side effects caused by treatment and teaches caregivers how to identify and manage symptoms. It  teaches how to communicate and solve problems and the importance of taking care of yourself, too. Caregivers can maintain physical and emotional health through relaxation techniques, respite care, diet, exercise and through seeking help from numerous resources.
