The staff of United Hospital's Cancer Care Services knows how to help. By combining compassionate, highly skilled care with the latest technology and treatment, you can be assured you'll be well cared for. You'll be treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Services include:
Inpatient oncology services, Outpatient oncology services, Radiation Therapy, Clinical Trials, an Infusion Center, and Integrative Health and Health Center, & other specialty programs.

Nutrition: Registered dietitians provide all oncology patients with services such as nutritional assessments, high-risk nutrition monitoring and expert advice on diet supplementation. 

Pastoral care: The experienced, sensitive pastoral care staff visits with patients on the oncology unit to help them use their spiritual resources to cope with cancer. The staff also provides spiritual ministry to family members and can coordinate referrals to the patients own clergy.  

Pharmacy: The highly skilled pharmacy staff provides their expertise to patients and staff in the areas of medication information, the use, handling, research and monitoring of medications and the use of specialized chemotherapy infusion pumps. 

Psychological and social services: Psychologists are available to help patients deal with the impact of their condition on their personal, family and work lives. Social Service staff members are actively involved in evaluating patient needs and providing appropriate assistance in areas including financial services, emotional support, home care, discharge planning and transition to home and community.  

United Hospital's Cancer Care Services has received a Commission on Cancer (CoC) Seal of Approval with commendation. According to the American Cancer Society the CoC is dedicated to improving health care for people with cancer. The CoC sets standards for hospitals, evaluates resources and quality of care and studies patterns of patient care and outcomes. To meet the standards necessary for CoC approval, a program must undergo a rigorous evaluation and performance review. CoC approval is only given to facilities that have committed to providing the very best.
