The Breast Center of United Hospital is a comprehensive program of diagnostic, treatment and support services for women with benign and malignant breast disease. The Breast Center provides quality care from a team of professionals, backed by the latest technology.
The Breast Center of United Hospital is the oldest dedicated center in the Twin Cities east metro area that provides and coordinates:
- mammography
- breast ultrasound
- diagnostic services, including breast biopsies
- surgical consultation
- bone density scanning
- Sharon K. Willbrandt Resource Library
- evening appointments for screening mammography
- support groups
- access to: clinical trials, genetic counseling, integrative medicine
- post mastectomy garments
- lymphadema resources
The Breast Center offers state-of-the-art digital mammography and breast ultrasound. Radiologists specializing in mammography are located in The Breast Center. The Breast Center and its certified technologists are accredited by the American College of Radiology to ensure patients high-quality and safe services.
A unique part of United's Breast Center is the nurse clinician. This is a nurse with education and experience in caring for women with breast cancer. She can answer questions, offer emotional support and help find other resources appropriate for the woman and her family during treatment and recovery.
The Breast Cancer Education & Support Group is designed specifically for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery. The group provides an opportunity to learn and to share feelings, concerns and experiences in a supportive environment. This free group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month from 2:00 - 3:30pm.
