Caregiver Support & Respite
Respite care can be provided on a short-term (2-4 hour) basis to relieve the caregiver of their 24-hour a day responsibility. Respite care will be provided in the client's own home.
Your relative or loved one needs to be age 60 or older, residing in LeSueur County or a neighboring community and ill with a long-term degenerative disease or chronic condition and unable to stay alone for more than 2 hours.
Transportation
Available to LeSueur county residents. Medical appointments can be anywhere in Minnesota. Clients must be able to get in and out of the vehicle on their own.
Non-medical: Aging services for communities offers transportation and companionship to anyone going to non-medical appointments. A trained and qualified person will accompany you to your appointments for a fee.
Senior Transportation Program: If you are over 60 and not on medical assistance, we have trained volunteer drivers to take you to scheduled medical appointments. You will make a donation to ASC for the transport.
Medical Assistance Clients: Medical Assistance client rides may be free, please contact ASC to find out how.
Home Management (Homemaker Services)
Providing Homemaker Services to LeSueur, Rice, Scott and Waseca Counties.
Aging Services for Communities offers trained and qualified staff to help you with tasks such as Light housekeeping, Sorting your mail, Shopping for your groceries, Preparing meals, Doing your laundry, Washing your dishes, Taking out your garbage. These services are available with a sliding fee.
Please notify ASC if your are on an Elderly Waiver or the Alternative Care Grant.
